Girl Crush - Alexa Chung

Back again!

Being the procrastinator I am, I often find myself contemplating what I am actually doing with my life as I sit in bed, dark circles under eyes as a result of too much youtube, netflix, instagram and internet in general. However it was this afternoon, when I should've been doing homework or something useful with my time, I stumbled across a fashion documentary series by the one and only, Alexa Chung, that made me not ponder my life/ambitions/goals, but guide me as too what they could be, enabling to not contemplate and question, but dream and visualise.

Alexa has had many years of experience and is most probably the perfect person to start such a documentary series called Future Of Fashion. Her first series being so successful and having started a second one, she has a world wide and attentive audience. What's not to crush on? #galcrushmondays

I've binged watched all of these shows and found my calling. Alexa Chung has educated myself, as to what fashion really is. Not just a "dolly-bird in a dress", but a whole community, of creative and intelligent people. Fashion isn't what you wear, but an organised art-form. There is a business behind it and a brain behind the beauty. These episodes have inspired me do be apart of the global fashion community - doing what? - I'm unsure as of yet, but I do know that it is something I want to experience.

So in a round-a-bout way, what I"m trying to get at here is, find your Alexa Chung. Find someone or something that inspires you, gives you a purpose or just something that you want to aspire to.  Now go and be the best you.

If you're like me, wondering if the field of fashion is the one of which you choose to work in, I would definitely watch the series here - Future Of Fashion

RE: Room RE-Vamp!

Hey all...
As you'd be able to tell from the post title, I've made drastic changes to my room (all for the better of course) and thought I'd share them with you and give helpful tips on how you can give your room a bit of a touch up too!

In one way you could say puberty hit my room. I've traded baby purple's and pinks for modern and adolescent whites. Grow your's up a bit by changing the colours. I personally prefer the grey, white and black themes on tumblr that look calming and look really cool irl, but if you like a room with a little extra, I'd try a bold red and white theme.

Having lots of natural light in bedrooms definitely reduces signs of fatigue and stress, so open a window and let dat light shineeee

Study space is extremely important for the hardworking student, so making sure your desk stays organised and clear during the week is vital for dem A gradez. I have drawers for extra bits and bobs lying around that way my books can stay either in my bag or on my desk. Hope this helps! Comment your thoughts on different ways you might be able to re-vamp your room, I'd love your hear your ideas!

Later babes - Hannah xx

The Best of Sydney #2

I'm back with not much new from Sydney today...
The Bondi Food markets were great with fresh produce and an indie sorta vibe, but it was after in Pigeonhole I made one of my favourite purchases, these cut off denims were once Levi's 501 (pictured below) and have been re-birthed into a cutie-pie pair of high-waisted shorts.

Pigeonhole is not only good a selling the best shorts in the world for an amazeballs price ($34 on sale!), but has an extensive collection of little knick knacks from sunnylife, a chill men's wear section and tiny little jewellery!

The Best of Sydney

Well hello there,
I trust you've all had a marvellous start to 2016! Today I'm writing from SYDNEY! Which I'm super duper excited about because in this post I'm going to share with you my little trip away before school goes back and our lives are over lol.

DAY #1
Walked the dog to Bondi and passed some hip cafes that I'll check out later. The atmosphere is really chill here, made some friendly acquaintances on the way and I now think this is my new favourite city!

Build Your 'Drobe - Staple Items for 2016

So 2016 is almost upon us and I am nowhere near ready (insert sweating yet smiling emoji), but just because I'm not, doesn't mean that you can't be... Hopefully this post can help you build your killer new 'drobe from scratch. I've included some staple items, for any occasion that you can tailor to make your own (yay!).

1. The Pant
Culottes - 2016 brings times of modesty and sophistication, culottes are perfect for being classy while    remaining sassy. Try a high waisted pair with a body suit or crop for a finished look, or pair with sneakers for comfort and casualness.
Black Culottes from THE FITH LABEL
2. The Skirt
The midi - unfortunately overlooked, this skirt is still just as fun was any A-Line, Mini or Pencil skirt. Can be for casual or fun. Skirts are great to accessorise with and can take your outfit from "plain jane" to ready for the runway. Another great way to add your own style to your outfit.
Black Midi Skirt from ASOS
Denim - Is casual and chic and extremely easy to find at pretty much any market! I love vintage ones that have a bit of character in them.

3. The Dress
V neck - a go to party dress, short and funky. These metallic ones are my fave, there statement enough to not have to worry about accessorising.

Rose gold metallic does from BOOHOO

4. The Shoe/s (you can never have too many!)
Sneaker - for casual comfort. Try a white tennis shoe and have peace of mind that it will go with pretty much anything.
White & red tennis shoe from WINDSOR SMITH
The Heel - Sometimes less is more, let these shoes do the talking while you do the walking. These lizard textured heels and add a touch more boom to your outfit.

A rockin' good chop...

Well hello once again,

This week after some thought (and a little procrastination) I've yet again constructed a post that hopefully will give you guidance along the path of self-expression.

I'm a creature of habit. So when the hairdresser asks "What will it be today love?" I will almost always reply with "just a trim thanks". Hence why my brown locks have always hung nicely at a safe backbone length. But I've come to the realisation that safe isn't always a good word.

Maybe the JLaw pixie cut or hot pink tousles or goldilocks' honey blonde are a bit too much of a change so instead I opted for something different, a little edgey and still to my taste. I went for the "Lived In" look. Its textured layers give it a shaggy and rockin' groove. Taking a risk, no matter how small it might be, can definitely make a difference in your confidence.

Not only does it look cool but, its ahead of it's time! Refinery29 reports that it will be super "in" during 2016. Don't forget all the celebs who's dos are working this uber cool trend!

I hope you can all return back to your lovely lives after reading this with a newfound knowledge that it can be subtle changes can turn you into a FaSion Girl...

So you want to be a "fashion girl"...

Hellooo summerr (and readers)...

First and foremost, please excuse my absence of the past hundred years! I'm sure some of you might be able to relate when I say life can get in the way of a lot of things... But this summer I'm not making excuses and will most definitely be posting on a less sporadic basis.

Anyway, since I last left you in Autumn I've been reading and researching (as well as watching netflix) until the early hours of morning on trends, whose wearing what and style on a budget. All things that essentially are general knowledge for any "fashion girl". What is a fashion girl you might ask? Well according to Urban Dictionary, a fashion girl is a really cool girl who likes to read about and see all fashion shows and wear from it... always wears the latest in fashion and someone who makes up her own rules in fashion. Oh if it were so easy to make up your own rules in fashion --- hang on... it is!

This summer, make your own rules, express your self uniquely and work it with confidence then you my friend also can be... a FaShion Girl. So this post hasn't really been a post, or an update but a bit of a long (and maybe unnecessary) rant on how this summer I can help you find your own style and own it! There will be a'plentayy of DIYs as well as all the essential information from the world of fashion you need to know to be ready for summer, the festive season and the new year!

I'll leave you with some of my favourite pics of iconic fashion girls and their best looks...

Live on the edge, wear your pjs.

Add statement sunnies to complete any look
